Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has asserted that certain 'prominent film figures' engage with the dark web to illicitly infiltrate individuals' messaging applications like WhatsApp and emails. Responding to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's recent recommendations for implementing caller identification (caller ID) as a default feature in national telecommunications networks, Kangana unveiled startling revelations about the Hindi film industry. In her Instagram story, without explicitly naming individuals, the Queen actress expressed, "The authorities should take action against the dark web. Numerous well-known film personalities are involved, not just in consuming illicit content but also in unauthorized access to everyone's communications through platforms like WhatsApp and emails. Back in July 2023, the Manikarnika star asserted that her accounts were compromised by the 'film mafia. She disclosed that she became aware of this when she was informed about an individual scamming others and hacking accounts by posing as her representative. "The film mafia has a history of engaging in criminal activities. A well-known star I once dated later falsely claimed I was involved with his impersonator. This individual used various numbers and accounts to communicate with me, even resorting to hacking my account, and operating in a dubious manner. Initially, I believed it was related to a divorce, only to later discover it had nothing to do with such circumstances," the actress said.

On the work front, Kangana Ranaut is set to unveil her ambitious project Emergency, where she takes on the role of director as well. Portraying the character of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, the film is scheduled for release in 2024. Additionally, she also has a biopic of Noti Binodini in the pipeline.
